Community Rules
The Card Goat exists so trading card game communities can practice, test, learn, and play together. These rules apply across every game and simulator we support.

Important legal note
The Card Goat is unofficial. All trademarks, copyrights, card game names, logos, artwork, characters, card text, and other protected materials are owned by their respective rightsholders. Nothing on this site transfers ownership, grants a license, or suggests an endorsement by any game publisher or IP owner.
We identify supported games by name so players know which community tools they are using. Players and contributors must respect the rights of publishers, artists, licensors, and other creators.
Respect game IP and ownership
Game names, card names, artwork, logos, characters, settings, rules text, and other intellectual property belong to their respective owners. We use game names only to identify the games our community tools support. Do not use The Card Goat to upload, sell, distribute, or request unauthorized copyrighted material.
Report bugs; do not exploit them
Our simulators are works in progress. If you find a bug, report it. If a game state breaks, pause, communicate with your opponent, and resolve the situation in good faith. Do not intentionally use bugs, automation gaps, or hidden-information glitches to gain an advantage.
Keep organized play responsible
Do not run tournaments, leagues, paid events, prize pools, gambling, wagering, or commercial competitions through The Card Goat unless we have explicitly approved the event in writing. Community testing, casual play, and practice are welcome.
Community before competition
Play to improve together. Be patient with new players, assume good intent, and explain mistakes without harassment. No hate speech, threats, doxxing, impersonation, cheating, griefing, or targeted abuse.
Moderation and enforcement
If something feels wrong, report it to the moderators. We may remove content, reverse results, restrict features, suspend accounts, or ban users when needed to protect the community, the platform, or the rights of others.
When in doubt
If you are unsure whether an action is allowed, choose the option that protects other players, respects original creators, and keeps the platform non-commercial and community focused. For legal questions about your own use of game IP, talk to a qualified attorney.
